Pedagogy Reimagined

Expanding the Possibilities of Education

Ryan Lundell, Ed.D.

I’m an educator, researcher, and consultant helping schools move beyond job preparation toward democratic possibility

With 14 years of teaching English and Construction Technology in East Side San José, I integrate critical pedagogy across disciplines — from literacy to Career & Technical Education — to create hands-on, justice-centered learning.

I serve as Director of Workforce Virtual Design & Construction Education and as a postdoctoral fellow, supporting educators in transforming classrooms into spaces of dignity and collective agency.

Philosophy and Focus

Grounded in Paulo Freire’s belief that education is never neutral, my work helps educators move beyond “banking” instruction toward dialogue and problem-posing learning.

Across disciplines — including but not limited to CTE — I design project-based classrooms where students connect skill, lived experience, and justice.

What I Offer

I partner with teachers, schools, and universities to design rigorous, justice-centered learning.

Through interactive workshops and consulting, I bring critical pedagogy into practical, classroom-ready strategies. Educators move from lecture and compliance toward dialogue, inquiry, and student voice — connecting skill, power, and purpose.

Curriculum & Pathway Design

I support schools in designing programs that connect skill, scholarship, and real-world purpose.

From CTE pathways and dual enrollment to interdisciplinary initiatives and whole-school redesign, learning is grounded in authentic community challenges.

Speaking & Guest Lectures

I offer talks and guest lectures on critical pedagogy, Critical CTE, interdisciplinary project-based learning, and moving beyond neoliberal logics in education.

Each presentation weaves theory, classroom practice, and real stories to spark reflection and dialogue.
